Finishing & Seasons

Last updated: July 8, 2026

Every tournament has a life cycle: you set it up, run it, and eventually it wraps up. This section covers what happens once a tournament is finished, and the two tools that let you reuse your work — Start next season and Import from a tournament.

In this section#

  • When a tournament is finished — what gets locked, what stays editable, and how your finished tournament lives on as a permanent archive.
  • Start next season — spin up next season's tournament and carry your teams, divisions and structure across instead of rebuilding from scratch.
  • Import from a tournament — bring data from one of your past tournaments into a current one at any time.

The short version#

  • A finished tournament is locked for structural changes (structure, teams, divisions, rules, match line-ups) but its results and website stay fully editable, and it stays online forever as a shareable archive.
  • To run the event again, use Start next season — it creates a new tournament and copies over what you choose.
  • Need to pull data across after the fact? Import from a tournament copies teams, divisions, venues, referees, structure and website settings from one of your other tournaments into the current one.
