Website Editor

The Website Editor is where you build and publish your tournament's public website. It replaces the old Website Settings page: instead of a stack of forms, you get a visual, drag-and-drop builder with a live preview and a clear draft → publish workflow.

Find it in the dashboard under Website > Website Editor.

Coming from the old Website Settings page? Everything you used to do there now lives in the Website Editor — page visibility, theme, sponsors, PWA icon, home layout. (Registration settings have their own page: Sales → Registration form.) The main difference: changes are now saved as a draft and go live only when you press Publish.

Draft, Preview, Publish#

The biggest change from before: your website is no longer updated the instant you change a setting. The editor works on a draft, so you can make several changes, preview them, and push them all live at once.

• Unpublished changes — an amber badge appears in the top bar whenever your draft differs from the live site.
• Preview — opens your draft exactly as visitors will see it, without touching the live site.
• Publish — makes the current draft live.
• Discard — throws the draft away and reverts to whatever is currently live.

Tournament data (results, standings, fixtures, rosters) still updates automatically and in real time — the draft/publish flow applies only to your website's layout and settings.

The editor layout#

The top bar holds the Stage picker (see Editing per lifecycle state), Reset to default, and the draft workflow described above: Preview, Discard and Publish.

The left rail lists the parts of your website. Click one to open it beside the rail:

• Pages — every page of your website (see below).
• Branding — theme style and colors (see Branding).
• PWA application — the installable-app settings, including the custom app icon (see PWA application).
• Saved designs — save this website's design under a name, or apply one you saved, so next season starts from your last design instead of a blank site.
• Settings — your website address, language and search engines (see Settings).
• Live site — opens the currently published website in a new tab.

Pages#

Open Pages in the rail to see one entry per page of your website:

Home page · Standings · Matches · Teams · Venues · Registration · Sponsors · Documents · Summary

• A green dot next to a page means it is enabled (shown on the public site); a crossed-out eye means it is hidden.
• A lock with a Premium tag means the page needs a higher plan.
• Selecting a page opens its workspace, where you toggle the page on or off and set its page-wide options (for example, "Include ongoing matches in standings" on Standings, the menu item, QR code and description on Registration — whether registration is open, its dates and its fields are set on the Registration form page, which the Registration page links to — or the Hall screens switch on Venues, shown on the Premium plan).

The Home page is special: it is the full drag-and-drop block editor described below. Every other page is a focused settings workspace for that page.

Editing per lifecycle state#

Your home page can look different depending on where the tournament is in its journey. The Stage picker in the top bar lets you tune the Home layout for each stage:

• The tournament's current stage is marked Now.
• Picking a stage opens the Home page for that stage.
• Each state has its own cards & sections — for example, a countdown and a registration call-to-action while sign-ups are open, or a champions recap once it's finished.
• Hero content and the page areas (full-width bands) are shared across states, so you set those once.
• Reset to default rebuilds the state you're editing from MyCup's recommended blocks for that stage. It's staged as a draft — nothing goes live until you Publish.

Switch stages with the Stage picker and edit each one's Home layout independently. Your public site automatically shows the layout that matches the tournament's real state.

Building the home page#

The Home workspace is a single canvas: your home page, top to bottom, in the order visitors see it. Every block is already on it, shown or hidden, so there is nothing to add or remove: you switch blocks on and off and drag them into order. The canvas#

• The Hero (your tournament banner) is pinned to the top and always shows first. Edit it with its pencil to show/hide the logo, status badge and description, write a custom hero Description, and choose a background — see Themes & Backgrounds.
• Small cards — one group holding every small info card (Current Phase, Teams Count, QR Code, Install App, Structure Link, Total Matches, Goals Scored, Tournament Dates, Top Scorer Preview, Countdown, Social Media Card, Sponsors strip, Custom Card). On the site they flow into rows, up to four side by side. Its counter (for example 5/13) shows how many are switched on.
• Big cards — one group holding every large block (Live now, Latest Results, Upcoming Matches, Standings Preview, Top Scorers, Venues, Custom Content Block). Each takes the full width on the site.
• Full-width bands — page-wide strips (Winner recap, Banners, Divisions picker, Registration call-to-action, Call to action, Documents, Share tournament, Sponsors) that sit between the groups.

Drag a card within Small cards, or a big card within Big cards, to change their order. Drag the Small cards and Big cards groups and the bands by their handle to change the order of the page itself.

Block controls#

Each block has its controls on the canvas:

• Grip (⠿) — drag to reorder.
• Eye (Show / Hide) — switches the block on or off on the public site. A hidden block stays on the canvas so you can turn it back on anytime.
• Pencil (Edit) — opens that block's settings (for example, the heading on a section, or how many rows it shows). The Social Media Card's pencil is where you enter your Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, TikTok, Telegram and WhatsApp links; they also show in the footer of every page.
• Lock — the block needs a higher plan; it stays off until you upgrade.

Full-width bands#

Some blocks always span the full width and sit between your card and section rows:

• Winner recap — a slim champions strip; it stays hidden until you publish the Summary.
• Banners (Pro/Premium) — promotional image banners.
• Divisions picker — for multi-division tournaments, lets visitors jump to a division.
• Registration call-to-action — a prompt to sign up, shown while registration is open.
• Call to action — a custom button/prompt of your own.
• Documents — your published documents, with a link to the full page. Off by default.
• Share tournament — social sharing. Marked All pages because it shows on every page.
• Sponsors — the sponsor strip. Also All pages. It shows only while sponsors are switched on for your website (the switch on the Sponsors page, or Website > Sponsors).

Branding#

Open Branding in the left rail to change how the site looks. In a tournament with several seasons, Branding is shared by every season.

• Theme style — the site's overall look. Classic is the default and the style whose colors you customize. Broadcast is a dark, score-first look with its own palette. Both are free on every plan and use the same page layouts.
• Colors (Classic) — with Classic selected, pick a ready-made color scheme from the Standard and Editorial groups (all free).
• Hero background — set on the Hero block of the Home page: pick from the sample gallery (all samples free), or upload your own image (Images feature; 1920×600px or larger).

Branding changes are staged in your draft and go live on Publish, like everything else. See Themes & Backgrounds for the full guide.

PWA application#

Open PWA application in the left rail to manage how your site installs as a mobile app.

• Every tournament site is installable on iOS and Android from the browser (see Public Website → Mobile App Installation).
• Tournaments with the Images feature can upload a custom app icon (square, 512×512px or larger). Without one, the MyCup logo is used.
• Your icon is placed on a white background before it is installed. iOS and Android both render transparency in a home-screen icon as black, so a transparent logo is flattened onto white rather than shipped as-is. Upload artwork that reads well on white, and leave a little breathing room around the edges — Android crops a ring off the outside of the icon on some launchers.

Settings#

Open Settings in the left rail for the options that apply to your whole public website. In a tournament with several seasons, all three are shared by every season (marked All seasons).

• Website address — the public link to your website, mycup.me/tournament/…. Every season of a tournament shares one address: visitors land on the current season, and earlier seasons stay on the same site under /season/…, so QR codes and shared links keep working. On the Premium plan you can choose your own address, like mycup.me/tournament/my-cup (lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens). It saves instantly, with no Publish needed, and your old link keeps working and redirects to the new one. On other plans the address is chosen automatically, and an address you chose earlier keeps working; changing it again needs Premium. In a tournament with several seasons, changing it needs permission to manage all current seasons.
• Language — the one language your public website is displayed in (16 languages). This is the website's language, separate from your dashboard language. Applies on Publish.
• Search engines — the Show in search engines switch. On, search engines such as Google may list your site and it is in our sitemap. Off (the default), search engines are asked not to index it; the site stays public for anyone with the link. Applies on Publish.

Your own domain. Want your website on your own domain, like portocup.com? Use the Contact us link under the address. MyCup sets the domain up with you; once it is connected, Settings shows the domain and its status, and the mycup.me address keeps working and redirects to it.

Sponsors and Documents in the editor#

Sponsors and documents can both be managed from inside the editor, which is convenient while you're arranging a page.

1. Open the Sponsors or Documents page under Pages.
2. Add, edit, reorder and show/hide entries right there.
3. Toggle the page on or off and set its title and description.

Both also have their own pages in the dashboard — Website > Sponsors and Website > Documents — which are better when you have a lot of them: they add search, bulk delete, and switches in the page header showing exactly where the content is currently visible on your website.

It's the same data either way. Add a sponsor in the editor and it's there on the Sponsors page, and the other way round.

The Summary (end-of-tournament recap)#

The Summary page builds an end-of-tournament recap page.

• Set final placements — record who finished 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and so on. Leave a place empty to fall back to the live standings.
• Publishing is gated — the recap can only be published once every match is finished. Until then, you can configure it, but the publish switch stays locked with an explanation.
• Page-wide options — in the left panel you'll find Recap is published, Show in top menu, and Page title (a custom name for the page in the navigation and the browser tab; leave it empty to use the default "Tournament Summary"). Note that a custom page title is plain text and is not translated, so it stays as you typed it in every site language.

Best on desktop#

The editor is a drag-and-drop builder with a live preview, so it works best on a larger screen. On a phone or small tablet you'll see a reminder at the top of the editor — dragging blocks and using the preview are limited on small screens. You can still open and read the editor anywhere; for building, use a desktop.

A typical workflow#

1. Open Website > Website Editor.
2. On the Home page, drag the blocks you want into the order you want.
3. Open each page under Pages to enable the pages you need and set their options.
4. Set your Branding and, if you use it, upload a PWA application icon.
5. Check your website address, language and search engines under Settings.
6. Press Preview to see the draft as visitors will.
7. When you're happy, press Publish — or Discard to start over from the live version.
