Managing Seasons
Last updated: September 28, 2026
Each season of a tournament is its own MyCup tournament, with its own teams, matches, results and plan. The Seasons page (in the sidebar) keeps them together.
The Seasons page#
- Editions lists every season, newest first, with its dates, number of teams and status. It marks the one you are viewing and the Current one. Open any season you have access to, or click Settings on the one you are in.
- Each season's ⋯ menu has Make current (the season your tournament is "on", and the one the public season menu and the Public site tile lead to), Move up / Move down, Tournament settings and Unlink. You can also drag seasons to reorder them.
- The hero shows how many seasons there are, the current one, how many of this season's teams are returning, and which season the public site shows.
- Start next season creates the next one. See Start next season.
The tournament's name comes from the season you are in. Rename a season in its Tournament settings and the other seasons follow.
Add a tournament you already ran#
If you ran last year's edition as a separate tournament, click Link existing tournament, choose it, choose where it goes in the order (by default, by its start date), and whose website look to keep. It becomes a season: its teams, results and website stay exactly as they were, and its clubs and players are added to the library.
A tournament can be a season of only one tournament, and you must be an organiser of it. It keeps its own plan: the 30-day demo of a paid plan is only for a season made with Start next season, so linking or reordering seasons never adds or removes one.
Unlink or delete a season#
- Unlink makes a season a standalone tournament again. Nothing is deleted. Unlink all seasons does the same for every season.
- To delete a season completely, with its teams, matches and results, open that season and use Delete season in its Tournament settings. When a tournament has two or more seasons, that button deletes only the season you are in.
What every season shares#
The organiser team, invoice details, website brand and venue details are shared by all seasons: change them in one and the others follow. The full list is in Start next season.
On your public website#
When more than one season is published, your website's top menu shows a season menu, in the same style as the divisions menu. Visitors pick a season and land on its home page. Seasons whose website is switched off are not listed.
Switching between tournaments#
Use the tournament selector at the top of the panel. It lists your tournaments and their seasons, and New tournament is at the bottom of it.
Plans and seasons#
Each season has its own plan. A new season after a paid one gets a 30-day demo of the same plan; see Which plan the new season is on. While the demo runs, a banner at the top of the panel reminds you, with a link to buy the plan for this season.
