Home Page Blocks
Last updated: July 26, 2026
Your tournament's home page is built from blocks in the Website Editor. This page is the complete reference for every block you can place — what it shows, and any plan or tournament requirements. For how to add, reorder, show/hide and publish blocks, see the Website Editor guide.
How the home page is organized#
The Home canvas runs top to bottom, in the exact order visitors see it. Blocks fall into four regions:
- Hero — the banner pinned to the very top.
- Info cards — small blocks that flow into rows, up to four side by side.
- Big cards — large blocks that always take the full width.
- Full-width bands — page-wide strips that sit between your rows; a few of them show on every page, not just Home.
You can freely interleave cards and big cards in one stream, so a row of cards can be followed by a results block, then more cards, then standings — whatever tells your tournament's story best.
Reading the badges#
On the canvas and in the palette, each block shows small labels:
- HIDDEN — the block is on your canvas but not shown on the public site. Click its eye to turn it on.
- Premium (with a lock) — the block needs a paid plan; until you upgrade it stays locked and off.
- All pages — the block appears on every page of your site, not only Home.
- A counter on a group (for example, Cards 5/13 or Big cards 3/7) shows how many blocks in that group are currently switched on out of the total available.
Defaults depend on the lifecycle state. MyCup pre-enables a sensible set of blocks for each stage — Setup, Registration, Upcoming, Live, Completed — so a page in sign-up mode leads with a countdown and a registration prompt, while a finished tournament leads with a champions recap. You can show or hide any block in any state. See Editing per lifecycle state.
Hero#
The Hero is the large banner at the top of the page and is pinned first — it can't be moved or removed. Edit it to show or hide the tournament logo, the status badge and the description, to write a custom hero Description, and to choose a background image. Hero content is shared across all lifecycle states, so you set it once. See Themes & Backgrounds for background options.
Info cards (small blocks)#
Small cards line up in rows of up to four. There are 13 to choose from.
- Countdown — A live countdown (days, hours, minutes, seconds) to kickoff — the next scheduled match, or a date you set.
- Tournament Dates — The tournament's start date, or its full date range.
- Current Phase — The stage the tournament is in right now, such as "Group Stage" or "Quarter-Finals".
- QR Code — A scannable QR code that opens your public site, with an Enlarge & Print link so you can post it at the venue.
- Install App — A prompt inviting visitors to add your site to their phone's home screen as an app (PWA).
- Structure Link — A shortcut card that links straight to your Structure / bracket page.
- Total Matches — The total number of matches in the tournament.
- Teams Count — The number of participating teams (or participants, for individual sports).
- Goals Scored — The total number of goals scored so far. Shown only for sports that record goals.
- Top Scorer Preview — The current leading scorer. Shown only for sports that record goals.
- Social Media Card — Links out to your tournament's social media profiles.
- Sponsors strip — A compact row of sponsor logos. Premium (Sponsors feature).
- Custom Card — A small card you fill with your own title and text — use it for anything the standard cards don't cover.
Big cards (large blocks)#
Large blocks always span the full width. There are 7 to choose from.
- Upcoming Matches — The next fixtures, each with kickoff time, the two teams, the specific group or round, and the venue.
- Latest Results — Recently finished matches with their final scores.
- Live now — Matches currently in progress. It appears only while something is actually being played.
- Standings Preview — A compact league table (the top of the standings) that links to the full Standings page.
- Top Scorers — A leaderboard of the tournament's top goal scorers. Shown only for sports that record goals.
- Venues — A list of the tournament's venues / grounds.
- Custom Content Block — A full-width block for your own rich content — announcements, rules, a welcome message, sponsor shout-outs, anything you like.
Full-width bands#
Bands span the page width and sit between your card and big-card rows. Toggle each one with its eye; hidden bands stay on the canvas so you can switch them back on.
- Winner recap — A slim champions strip celebrating the winners. It stays hidden until you publish the tournament's Summary, then appears automatically — ideal for the Completed stage.
- Banners — A strip of promotional image banners. Premium (Images feature).
- Divisions picker — Lets visitors jump between divisions. Premium (Divisions feature) and only relevant for multi-division tournaments.
- Registration call-to-action — A prominent "register your team" prompt, ideal while sign-ups are open.
- Call to action — A custom call-to-action band with your own headline and button. Off by default until you set it up.
- Sponsors — The full sponsors band. Premium (Sponsors feature); shows on All pages.
- Share tournament — Social share buttons so visitors can spread the word. Shows on All pages.
Notes on availability#
- Sport-aware blocks. The three scorer blocks — Goals Scored, Top Scorer Preview and Top Scorers — are only offered for sports that record goals. For a sport without goal events they're left out entirely, since they'd have nothing to show.
- Mode-aware blocks. The Divisions picker only applies once your tournament has more than one division.
- Premium blocks stay on the canvas but locked and off until your plan unlocks the feature — so you never publish an empty, locked strip. Upgrade from the Plans page.
